The “NanoClub” exists since February 2002 at the RWTH Aachen. It networks the interdisciplinary research activities at the RWTH in the field of Nano Science and Technology. Besides the bundling of the broad activities of RWTH faculties the NanoClub acts as an efficient platform for local up to Europe-wide activities. The cooperation with companies, e.g. AMICA - AMO GmbH/Aachen, the Froschungszentrum Jülich and the Fraunhofer Insititute is an important target of the mission particularly with regard to the progress in the region as well in North Rhine-Westphalia. Actually, there are about 27 working groups involved, including the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Mining, Metallurgy and Earth Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine. The rectorate suppors this promising network by means of the coordinator position.
