Aachen University - RWTH - RWTH NanoClub The “NanoClub” exists since February 2002 at the RWTH Aachen. It networks the interdisciplinary research activities at the RWTH in the field of Nano Science and Technology. Besides the bundling of the broad activities of RWTH faculties the NanoClub acts as an efficient platform for local up to Europe-wide activities. The cooperation with companies, e.g. AMICA - AMO GmbH/Aachen, the Froschungszentrum Jülich and the Fraunhofer Insititute is an important target of the mission particularly with regard to the progress in the region as well in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Actually, there are about 27 working groups involved, including the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Mining, Metallurgy and Earth Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine. The rectorate suppors this promising network by means of the coordinator position. http://www.nanoclub.rwth-aachen.de/english.html [ Detail ]

Bioanalytik Münster e.V. Bioanalytik-muenster is a regional network of
* universities
* research centres
* enterprises
* transfer institutions
* investors
which have joined forces in this non-profit-making organisation.
Bioanalytik-muenster (founded in November 2000) provides a central communication and information platform for scientists, entrepreneurs, investors and members of the public who are interested in bioanalytics.
The purpose of the organisation is to promote science, research and education in the field of bioanalytics in the Münster region.
The aim of the organisation is to develop the Münster region into a leading bioanalytics location with the emphasis on nano-bioanalytics. Therefore, since February 2004 bioanalytik-muenster together with the Atomic Energy Commisssion (CEA) in Grenoble coordinates the EC Network of Excellence Nano2Life to strengthen the European scientific and economic leadership in nanobiotechnology. http://www.bioanalytik-muenster.de/ [ Detail ]

CeNIDE - Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen CeNIDE, the Center for Nanointegration Duisburg-Essen, was founded in 2005 by members of the physics, chemistry and engineering departments as a framework for the diverse nano-activities at the Universtät Duisburg-Essen (UDE).
CeNIDE is based on the strongly interdisciplinary research excellence in the area of Nanotechnology at UDE. This includes an exceptionally broad knowledge base in fundamental nanoscience, unique fabrication facilities for nanoscale materials in large quantities, and experience in questions of scalability and reliability.
The Know how incorporates a number of coordinated research networks, such as Collaborative Research Centers (SFB) and DFG Research Training Groups (GK)
* SFB 445 "Nanoparticles from the Gas Phase"
* SFB 491 "Magnetic Heterolayers"
* SFB 616 "Energy Dissipation at Surfaces"
* GK 1240 "Nanotronics"
as well as several third party projects and joint ventures with industrial partners. http://www.cenide.de/ [ Detail ]

CeNTech GmbH - Center for nanotechnology CeNTech promotes the formation of start-up companies that originate from university research and supports the expansion of companies in the nanotechnology sector. The CeNTech GmbH provides the general conditions for entrepreneurs to further develop their research ideas into marketable products. The founders will be guided through the first years and will be assisted with technical and business know-how.
Another aim of CeNTech is the promotion of education and advanced training in the field of nanotechnology. With the organisation of events like the NanoBioTec Congress & Exhibition an international forum has been created for both scientists and managers that provides a platform for discussion, making contacts, and the exchange of ideas. Furthermore, in specific workshops nanotechnological knowledge is imparted to pupils, students, and other interested persons. http://www.centech.de/ [ Detail ]

IVAM Microtechnology Network As international association of companies and institutes in the field of microtechnology, nanotechnology and advanced materials, IVAM's priorities are to create competitive advantages for our members. Our members have appreciated this for 13 years now. 236 member companies and institutes from 16 countries open up new markets and set standards with the support of IVAM. Companies, Institutes, products, services and contact persons are listed here online as well as in the printed IVAM directory.
With our technical internet sites www.ivam.de and www.neuematerialien.de (German only at the moment), we see ourselves as a communicative bridge between suppliers and users of high-tech products and services in need of explanation in the fields of microtechnology, nanotechnology and advanced materials. http://www.ivam.de/ [ Detail ]
